EUSA Regulations for European Students Run

 

 

Only the following may participate as competitors in the European Students Run 2026:

 

ESR 1: Students who are officially registered for and pursuing a course of study at: university, or similar institute with the status as an institution of higher education recognised by the appropriate national authority of their country. Participation of university teams from disputed territories is possible only for universities recognized either by the European University Association or the International Association of Universities. Such Universities may only compete under their University and EUSA flag.


ESR 2: Students shall confirm their status by providing at the registration desk their valid documentation proving student status at a university or similar institution as mentioned above. The documentation must include at least the following:
- Personal data: Full name; Sex; Date of birth; Nationality
- Study-related data: Higher education/University country, University name, Faculty, Study/Academic year, or valid "from" date and "expiry" date
Should one documentation not include all of the above-mentioned required information, other official supporting documents may be used to prove eligibility (eg. university, national or international students ID; proof of enrolment; online certificate...).


ESR 3: Participants must also provide a valid passport, national identity card or other officially recognised identification (in classic Latin alphabet letters), with information that corresponds to the student status documentation mentioned above.


ESR 4: Competitor’s age is defined by the formula: year of European Students Run – competitor’s year of birth = age. According to this formula competitor shall not be younger than 18 and older than 30 years in the year of the event,


ESR 5: Former students of the institutions mentioned above who obtained their academic degree or diploma in the year of the event or the year preceding the event, complying with all other regulations, can also be allowed to participate in the European Students Run.


ESR 6: If competitors fails to provide sufficient or credible documentation regarding their studies and eligibility, they can only take part in the general run (but not in the students category) if they cover the difference in the fee.

Registration

On line registration form will be available only at web page, until the day of the deadline (at the latest) - September 1, 2026.

Any and all registrations after this date will be no longer possible, nor will they be possible during the event.

Refunds of the registration fee is not possible in any case (not even with a medical certificate)!

Starter package pick up is available only during the NLB Ljubljana Marathon EXPO with a valid voucher.

 

 

General Rules and Conditions

Any and all violations of rules is sanctioned by the disqualification of the runner.

Runners who run with a baby carriage or in a wheelchair run at their own risk and always start from the last starting zone.

A committee shall be dealing with any complaints that may arise on the day of the race at the secretariat on Kongresni trg, between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Written complaints should be submitted to the committee together with the deposit of 70€.

 

Insurance, Liability and Health

Every participant shall take part in the competition at his/her own risk. There will be an on duty medical team alongside the course (at each refreshment and water station) and at the marathon finish line.

Runners are recommended to take a preventive medical examination up to 30 days before the competition and obtain a doctor's confirmation that they are healthy and endeavor ready.
